Meet Kristen
I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I provide evidence-based psychotherapy and psychiatry (medication management) for children, adolescents, and adults. I approach medication management and psychotherapy with empathy and humor. My passion is supporting others in identifying their strengths to build resilience. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients from a space of non-judgment. My practice is grounded in neurodiversity-affirming, gender-affirming, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care.
I earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2024 after completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2021 and my Master of Social Work in 2020. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Linguistics from the University of California, San Diego in 2013.
Since 2015, I have served the Reno community in a variety of healthcare settings, with experience in psychotherapy, psychiatry and medication management, home health nursing, and psychiatric case management. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I am currently pursuing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my four Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless) dogs, being in nature, learning languages, and going to concerts.
